It’s that time of year again. The countdown to our annual retreat began at the beginning of the last quarter of the year. The excitement became palpable as the year wound down and the event drew closer. You could literally taste everyone’s zest to pack their bags and appear at the retreat venue as we held the last Monday morning Zoom meeting of the year.
Corporately Lucid is not just a team of talented, skilled, and highly driven content writers, designers, video editors, and website designers; we have developed a bond that makes us much more. As a remote team, we couldn’t wait to reunite, recharge, and realign our goals for delivering exceptional results.

Brief Overview and Purpose of the Retreat
As expected, 2024 was a rollercoaster of events for us at Corporately Lucid (CL). We faced challenges, overcame obstacles, achieved several milestones, attracted new clients, and bonded online. However, our annual retreat brings us together to enjoy more than just bonding.
This year’s retreat was designed to help us reconnect physically (and meet new team members for the first time). It also allowed us to synergize and figure out the team’s direction for the new year. Other things we planned to do included having fun, recharging, strategizing, and getting inspired. CL’s 2024 retreat was held at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Our annual retreat is more than just a team-building exercise; it’s an opportunity to connect, align, and inspire each other. We brought together staff from different parts of the country for two days of bonding, learning, and growth.
CL 2024 Retreat: Major Highlights
What do you expect when a team of creatives gathers from all over the nation? You can best believe that our retreat was a beehive of activities, from serious brainstorming moments to hilarious bursts of laughter and competitive game time. Our 2024 retreat was fun, and here are a few highlights to remember:
- Icebreaker session: Day One began with an icebreaker session that had us in stitches most of the time. We introduced ourselves and said exciting things people didn’t know about us. Little wonder strangers became friends in a matter of minutes.
- Content creation: How would creatives gather without creating content? Of course, we dedicated some time to creating content that would last us a while. It was fun all the way.
- Games: From swimming to table tennis and playing the famous “cup and balloon” game, every second brought us untold fun wrapped in healthy competition.
- Food time: People strike a special bond when they eat together. This statement came alive as we shared meals during the retreat. It was a special time of bonding while serenading our tastebuds with the delicious meals from the restaurant.
- Photoshoot: This is a major aspect of all our retreats. We get to freeze memories in time that will keep us through the next year. From individual shots to departmental photos and random pictures, we had so much fun.
- Annual General Meeting: And to the serious part of our retreat (not like the other parts weren’t serious): our annual general meeting, which had us reflecting, strategizing, aligning, and preparing for the New Year.
- Awards and recognitions: We recognized and celebrated our team members’ achievements, and it was incredible to see the impact of their hard work.
- Gift exchange: What’s an annual retreat held in December without a show of love? Each staff member randomly picked someone’s name a few weeks before the retreat. The goal was to buy a gift for that individual, and we exchanged the gifts during this session.
Plans for 2025
As part of our preparations for the new year, the company’s leadership needed to share their vision for 2025. The three managers (Content Manager, Art Director, and Project Manager) had sessions to share their clear visions for their departments.
The amiable company CEO, Ayishat Olanrewaju, followed up with a presentation of the company’s direction for 2025. She explained the goals, expectations, the need for having an ownership mentality, and the essence of improved marketing.
To round up the annual general meeting, we had an interactive session. During this session, staff were allowed to ask questions, provide feedback, and present suggestions to improve our processes and results.
Conclusion
Corporately Lucid’s 2024 annual retreat was an unforgettable experience. It left us feeling inspired, motivated, connected, and ready to go again in the New Year. As we resume work in 2025, we believe we will be ready to tackle new challenges, seize opportunities, and make a meaningful impact. We might be on break now, but you can still book a discovery session with us, and we will get back to you in the new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
